On 25 May 2024, the youngest of Slovenia’s four regional parks—the Pohorje Regional Park—was officially established.
We celebrated the park’s anniversary together with sixth-grade pupils from the Lovrenc na Pohorju Primary School, surrounded by centuries-old forests, mysterious peat bogs, colourful mountain meadows, and crystal-clear streams.
We express our gratitude to the people of Pohorje, whose respectful relationship with nature has helped preserve one of the most valuable nature conservation areas in Slovenia and across Europe.
Through educational activities within the Pohorje Regional Park School Network, we are helping to ensure that future generations will continue to care for and protect the unique natural heritage of Pohorje.
