The “outdoor” interpretation centre of Pohorje nature reveals the rich natural and cultural heritage, along with many interesting features of this part of Pohorje. It is accessible to people with reduced mobility, and all content is also presented in Braille.
Located opposite the entrance to the Pohorje Treetop Walk, the centre offers a complete narrative of Pohorje’s landscapes and natural features, with panoramic views and interpretive content that connect visitors to the surrounding environment.
It serves as a starting point for several nearby themed trails that present Pohorje’s natural and cultural heritage, including the Trail across planje (mountain meadows), the Škratova (Dwarf) Trail, and the Rogla–Lovrenška Jezera Trail.

Rogla–Lovrenška Jezera Trail with interpretation tower
At the beginning, the trail crosses open mountain meadows offering wide panoramic views that stretch as far as the Kamnik–Savinja Alps and the Karawanks. It soon continues into forested terrain, where visitors walk among majestic trees on their way to Lovrenška jezera (Lovrenc Lakes).
The mysterious world of dwarf mountain pine and peat bog pools invites visitors to explore the landscape via wooden boardwalks that protect this fragile ecosystem.
Trail across planje (mountain meadows)
In the immediate vicinity of the Rogla, this trail reveals the diverse world of Pohorje’s mountain grasslands.
Visitors learn about characteristic plant and animal species, the close relationship between these habitats and human activity, and their exceptional conservation value—not only within Slovenia, but on a broader European scale.
